Outdoor Heritage Museum

As part of the familiarization trip the staff had a fascinating visit to the new Outdoor Heritage Museum in Oquossoc at the corner of Routes 4 and 17 just outside of Rangeley. This museum heralds Maine's outdoor hunting and fishing heritage and the role the Rangeley area played in making Maine a premier outdoor sporting destination since the mid 1800's.The Museum tells of the adventures of sportsmen from all over the world in quest of the enormous wild brook trout and other game. Their travels, stay, and adventures are chronicled as well as famous local guides and personalities which made the area famous. A beautiful log cabin style museum completed in the fall of 2010 compliments the area and provides a setting for the rich history of the area. Loved the Visit
